Scott and Judy Mason have long been friends of NEU Church Planting staff and supporters of Summer OFF. But recently they had the chance to come to Providence and participate in Summer OFF for themselves — what we call a “vision trip”. Here is what Scott writes about their visit:

A couple of summers ago, my wife and I had the opportunity to join with NEU’s Summer OFF program in Providence. We had read about Summer OFF in newsletters from Rich and Susan Fulton and prayed for it, but we wanted to spend a day and see for ourselves.

We met first thing at Dexter Park in Providence’s West End. A group from Godspeed Church who was in charge that week arrived with supplies and enthusiasm. Sure enough, children began to appear from all directions. They came to play, paint, create and engage. What a great connection with these kids from the city, giving them a day of positive activities, a Bible message, and the love of Jesus in action. Where else will some of these children hear the Gospel and get a chance to be eternally impacted? To think the City of Providence not only gave permits for the program but even coordinated to do their free lunch program nearby in the park. We left very encouraged… and exhausted. Come see for yourself.
