We’re thrilled to introduce Christian, his wife Cassie, and their son as the newest addition to the NEU Church Planting team! Their journey is one marked by gospel conviction, a love for overlooked communities, and a commitment to seeing lives transformed by the power of Christ.
Christian’s walk with Jesus began when he was 13, after his older brother shared the gospel with him. Though he didn’t grow up in a Christian home, God continued to draw him close, eventually leading him into ministry through a vow of poverty, life as a traveling musician, and evangelism among the marginalized. Cassie came to faith later, after being introduced to Jesus (and Brennan Manning’s The Ragamuffin Gospel) during a season of searching. Together, they’ve walked through challenges and a call into ministry with courage and clarity.
Their heart for urban neighborhoods is rooted in both personal experience and gospel conviction. Christian shared: “What I find most beautiful about the inner city is the level of faith or willingness to believe in the Savior Jesus Christ. They are seeking hope… the harvest is plentiful.” He and Cassie are passionate about church planting not as outside saviors, but as gospel partners eager to see the least, the last, and the lost encounter the power of the cross through the life of the local church.
This summer marks the start of Christian’s apprenticeship with NEU. He will be working on fundraising and will finish his coursework at Grimké Seminary, where he will graduate with a Bachelor of Divinity (with a concentration in Urban Ministry) this fall.
We’re honored to have this faithful brother join us in our mission to plant healthy, Christ-exalting churches in New England’s urban neighborhoods. Their presence is already a gift, and we can’t wait to see how God will move through them in the days ahead.
Welcome, Christian and Cassie—we’re so glad you’re here!
